My TRUE Story
I knew it was coming. You don’t walk around young, pissed off, and thinking you know everything without eventually getting punched in the teeth. I wasn’t built for bureaucracy, didn’t have the patience for office politics.
“We’re going to let you go.”
Yeah. No kidding.
The problem was, the timing couldn’t have been worse. I just got home with my second daughter. I was building a house. The kind of moment where you’re supposed to feel stable, secure. Instead, I was staring down the barrel of uncertainty, wondering how I was going to make this work.
After the initial rage burned off, I started thinking—hard. What if I did my own thing? What if I made videos—but differently than everyone else ? No snake oil sales tactics. Just truth, respect, and integrity.
I took my severance, bought an iMac, a camera, and started sketching out a plan. Late nights, long thoughts. I looked back at everything I’d done—sales, marketing, branding, visual communications. I’d been in the trenches. I knew how to cut through the noise. What if I could use all that, give clients something real? A streamlined process. No wasted time, no endless revisions. Just a straight shot to something that worked.
And what if I built it on honesty? No gimmicks. No sleight of hand. Just trust, earned the hard way—by doing the work, and doing it right.
What if it were TRUE?
It’s been over 25 years now. My daughters have graduated college, and the business has moved out of the basement into a studio—a creative playground where stories get told, ideas get pushed, and the work still matters. My clients and I have done a lot of good in that time. We’ve created videos that rally support for veterans, put food in front of school kids, drive students toward college, shine a light on the environment, push for better healthcare, celebrate PRIDE, and even bring a little extra joy during the holidays.
So what if it was never about cameras, edits, or production schedules? What if it’s about dropping ego, staying curious, and actually focusing on each other.
What if it were TRUE ?
